These clients wanted to upgrade their great room and get away from the wood burning stove insert. The convenience and ease of a new gas fireplace that allows a crackling fire with the push of a button just can't be beat.
We started by removing all the brick and masonry chimney components to build the new rough opening for the new gas fireplace unit. The existing flue had to be abandoned for a new direct vent unit.
The flooring in the great room was replaced with prefinished white oak. All the cabinets, bookshelves, casings, and moldings around the new fireplace unit were custom built to size.
The shiplap backing and butcher block counter slabs / mantle are a popular choice these days as well.
New electric for the mounted TV and picture lights help to set the mood and bring it all together.
